O.K. everyone, stop with the gardening, house repairs, and other Spring chores. It's time to take a break and have a BBQ and some beers . BBQ is ready and the drinks are cold. My treat.

When I left this morning the temp was at 6C.. Pretty depressing. On top of that my laptop at work died, so most of my stuff is gone..

I will gladly serve you all a beer, but for me I am needing a stronger drink right now. I need a large J&B and soda, lots of ice.
We had a terrific thunder storm on monday, with ice pellets and extremely heavy rain. i will post a pic of the deck in the middle of the storm. We were hit yet again by lightning and it took out the PLC in the greenhouse and my puter in the house.
Things have been changed now and hopefully that will never happen again. I just need to get my puter to Doc so he can fix whatever is fried in it. I am currently working on the computer that has been set up in the greenhouses and the screen is very high on a shelf so it is very hard to work with for typing.

I have a week off work and it's been raining everyday so far. I want to get some work done in my yard and I am trying to do some in between rain falls. Got some done but still got a lot to go.
May not get anything done today. Got to go to my brothers place to fix up his internet, then drive my mother-in-law around town.
Clifton, if you sit on a very tall chair it should make it easier to type.

Thanks Elf, for the much needed laugh.
We have rain and thunder storms coming, starting this afternoon and off and on for 4 days.

We've had a heatwave here for the past 2 weeks. My second floor has been unbearable to be in with 30-35C temps in the shade with 80 % humidity, almost 60C in the sun. Needless to say with my computers in the second floor, i haven't been much online lately.
The forecast says thunderstorms throughout the day which will give us some relief with temps dropping 15C so hopefully i'll get to post a bit more when it passes us
Our AC at work has been out of work for sometime and a puny little fan has been all the air we've had. I have come home drenched in sweat the past week hehe. My Car AC unit has not been working either
It's 11 AM and it's currently 29C inside the store. Yay for yet another day bathed in sweat while fixing computers. I have already shorted one motherboard

I ran out of motherboards to short today
hehe. It went great. Fixed two computers, and built one from scratch. Both fixer's called me up saying how happy they were with the computers when they got home. I did break a landline phone today. Does that count?
The AC at work is going to the landfill. We ordered a new one, but as every man, woman and child in Norway is screaming for air, there is no one that can install the unit in quite some time.
Still no thunder!!!
Edit: There is thunder, but not here. argh!
My Vauxhall/Opel Zafira is only three years old. I brought it in for a warranty inspection as the warranty runs out on the 4th. The AC unit was the only major thing that had failed.
I think i am going for a drive soon in the other car to cool off. I am all out of beer too!

I am about to ballistic. The humidity is just killing me. When i woke up at 8 AM, it was already 26C outside.
Still no thunder in sight. I think i am going to find a lake/pond to float in tonight.

Sure hope you get some relief soon.
You can come float in our pond anytime.
I have a float and we have Coors lite and canadian Club.
It has been raining buckets here. I am about to go to the house from the
greenhouses and I am thinking I will probably have water in the basement.
Tremendous amount of rain recently.

Hehe. i'll take you up on that Coors one day
Thunderstorms are rolling in one by one. Its about 15C here now, humidity around 95% but its much more livable now.
So, A little status update is in place i guess.
First of all. I am probably if all goes well becoming a dad in February :-)
We're a bit worried still since we're still not passed the 12 week unsafe period, but we will find out on Thursday first if everything is as it should be.
Besides that, i am clearing out all the clutter preparing for Mini-H-kon(ette). Two computers down, two to go. I am also looking into replacing my smoothwall with something else not requiring a whole computer for the job meaning i'll be down to two computers. One recording box (BeOS pizza box from 1998) and my main one. I am not sure if i even need my smoothwall anymore?
Instead of owning a whole bunch of computers, i am going to invest a lot more in my music gear
One new amplifier and some decent software is going to be bought very soon, i am just not sure which yet. My office is being rearranged for the new additions so if someone want something from my parts pile, let me know. I'll rather send it to someone instead of junking it.
Besides that, work is taking more and more of my time and i am preparing slowly for a takeover, researching options in terms of cash register systems, warehouse, tax etc.
So, it's been quite a ride so far, but i can see that i have neglected this little forum for a while now for which i am sorry. I think i promised some sort of summer competition back a few months. I'll see if i can find a nice little game for that hehe.

Congratulations H-kon.
You will become a father 2 months after me.
12 weeks will pass quickly. I hope everything will be ok on Thursday.
When the baby is here you will not know what sleep is anymore.

Clifton, if you sit on a very tall chair it should make it easier to type.
I am back at my computer desk and chair
( so happy,
)
Had to replace the motherboard, it was fried.
Thanks Doc.

You are not lost in translation. I didn't announce it because the first time wasn't easy, especially for my wife. I kinda didn't want to announce it in case things went bad. Although we didn't lose the first baby and after she was born there where some close calls. But now I have a healthy girl who has started school and is loving it.
It is still early and so far things are going smoothly.

Glad you are off that very tall chair and sitting at your own computer again.
Storms/Lightning and computers don't go well together.

We have been thinking along those lines as well. Trying to keep it to ourselves until we're sure, but so far everything seems to be like they should be.
I am sorry to hear about the close calls, but i am glad to hear that it turned out alright in the end :-)
