It was really nice to get away and to do some puttering at "the pond".
Cleaning the grass and weeds out of my new [temporary] flower bed took a great deal of time
and backache.  Tongue however, it looks so much better now, so was worth the work and I am certainly not complaining after seeing the aftermath of a tornado in the Durham area last Thursday.  no

The photos here really does not give one the true picture. Seeing it up close and personal, is a totally
different story.
My first experience with such a storm and leaving one with a very sad feeling for the people that had
property damage and for the family that has lost a very young son. At the same time, causing the rest of us to count our Blessings. We were about 1.5 miles from the closest home/property damage. At our property, we had a
very severe thunder storm with very high winds, but no damage. I have a couple photos on my camera, I will post later.

Tornados scare me to death.  We don't have regular tornadoes here although i did experience a minor storm that carried a lot of wind through our last property. That storm only flattened acres of forest just north of where we lived, no injuries luckilly. We just got a wall of torrential rain and wind pushing 3cm of water into our apartment.

The autumn storms here can be quite bad with hurricane force winds (cat 1) on our west coast but it's quiet here in the east.

Have been back and forth to the "pond" since our crops were finished, but the vacation time is drawing to an end
for this year. Just a few short weeks to go and it's planting time again.   Was really hoping this place would sell before that happens but not likely now. Things are picking up a lot in this area lately in realestate, so we just wait and see.
The property at the pond is getting a bit more manicured with each visit. lots of tree trimming and cleaning up etc. looking good! Garage is nearly finished inside. The solar will be on the roof in the next two weeks and all the insulation done inside. Then we can move some things from the garage here, over there.
Have been trying to entice Canada geese to land on the pond, but no luck so far.  Tongue  Just the chickens and dogs from two properties over and even a horse!  no   Grin

Thanks, us too.
The garage/shop should be all finished in a few weeks, if all goes according to plan.
we will probably start the basement of the house next spring, but if we sell here in the meantime, that of course would change the timing.
