[H-kon]

I have been thinking about the competitions a bit and wanted to ask you all what you think.

The competitions have so far been quite fun The forums are somewhat active and there are posts and threads being posted, so with that in mind i have been thinking about perhaps make it a more integral part of H-kon.net

So here is the idea:

From January, we start with more games, but in a series system. We run a game for two weeks at a time, then choose another game for the next two weeks. The results from the games are posted in a series where the winner, runner-up etc is awarded points for position in the two week long game. f.ex:

Game name
1. Clifton - 12p - total score 4050
2. Elf       - 10p - total score 3876
3 H-kon - 8p  - total score 2673

Total games:
1 Elf -36p -
2. Clifton 27 p
3 H-kon - 18p
etc


We'll keep doing the simple games, perhaps not as long winded as the minigolf game, but more like the prior game (where we pushed the ball, or the coin game). We could perhaps do seasons as well with a break from May 1st to 1 Sept and start again until Christmas or something like that.

May 1st, we count the points and i send the prize to whomever wins, perhaps a runner-up prize as well

Of course, ideas about how we could do this, or if we should stick to the current system of intense gaming instead are always welcome :-) Rules are also up for discussion as well.

If anyone has a good idea about prizes and web sites that i can order from and ship everywhere, let me know. I am not sure i can afford the dental costs associated with the current prizes

I really like that idea.  

Maybe the winner should get "bragging rites" and maybe the picture of a trophy posted on the forum, instead of a real gift.
saves expense and bother for you while still being lots of fun.

Bragging rights and a trophy is a very good idea Clifton I like that I must have a look at how we can implement this in the forums

Expense and bother is one fun part of this, but i am thinking there must be something else than just chocolate that could be a good prize

We could make the games open to all members of this forum. I think we already to this?  

Changing games every 2 weeks is good. If we start in January and run for 2 or 3 months, to see how it goes.

Are we going to have points only for the top 3 positions?

I haven't thought much about the point system, so this is open to any suggestions. The competition is also going to be open to all members, and the bonus effect is that if you don't participate or visit often, you don't either have much chance of winning. We need a screenshot rule also so that no one uses google images to get a first prize.

How about some kind of racing point system?

12 points for 1st place
10 points for 2nd place
8 points for 3 place
6 points for 4th place
5 points for 5th place
4 points for 6th place
3 points for 7th place
2 points for 8th place
1 point for 9th place
0 points for every place after that. Just a suggestion, the whole thing is open for suggestion

Chances are that we don't get to use the point system after 5th place   We'll start a new thread for every competition, and lock the threads for the current games when the time runs out so that no one can post new scores
