Congratulations Canada
« on: February 12, 2010, 11:08:59 PM »
The opening ceremony for the winter olympics starts in 5 hours. It's going to be 3AM here when it starts so i am not sure that i will see it.

What prospects for medals do you guys have?

How about Australia?

I am going to watch the Hockey where Norway faces Canada (and loses 10-0) , but thats about it i think.

I think we have a good chance of getting a couple medals in the pairs and singles skating
and possibly one in speed skating. Otherwise I am not sure.

We could use a lot more snow in B.C. I think it may be a little challenging for some of the events.

The opening ceremonies starts around 9 p.m. (in about 4 hours from now). I will be watching
every moment that I can.  :ybanana:

Bring it on.  :D

Welcome World and good luck to all.  Most of all, have fun!

We *only* lost 8-0 - not as bad as i thought it would be :)

USA is going to be hard in this olympics i think.  We got creamed by them as well with 6-1. Now we're even with Switzerland with 3-3 before the start of the third period. I hope we win :)

I totally misread that quote.  :-[ Hahaha

That was some awesome skating on both sides. We totally enjoyed the game, (except me feeling bad for Norway's goalie).

I think you are correct about the US team, that will be a hard one for us as well.  :brrrr:

I did not see any of the opening ceremonies, I fell asleep. :gaaah: apparently it was totally awesome.

Seems we're a bit scared to take a shot when we enter the offensive zone.
We lost 4-5 against Switzerland in overtime so we got 1 point. I hope we meet Sweden for the playoff :)

We only got 37 ice rinks in Norway total and last i heard, there are as many ice rinks in Canada as there are active players in Norway so we're a tiny nation in Ice Hockey which i hope will change soon as i am very much fond of the game, although i only watch our national team.

Australia is 18th in the medal tally with one gold and one silver, a long way behind Canada and Norway.

Thats pretty good Elf :)  How much snow do you have in Australia?

How do you do in the summer olympics?  We're pretty poor in them.

We don't have much snow here. Mainly in south eastern Australia and mainly on the mountains.

We do much better in the summer olympics.

Norway did pretty good in getting some medals this time. Many of our best is retiring pretty soon so i think we will do much worse in the next olympics :)
Congrats to canada for winning the game at home :)
