We have finally sold our property here in Quebec. The closing date will be May 31st.
We will be going to Ontario to "The Pond" shortly thereafter.

Go for it.

We are finding it a little unbelieveable. Retirement, here we come.

Did I mention "we are sooooo happy"?

I can't stop smiling.  Grin Grin Grin

Thanks Elf.  It actually takes an hour to get to Ontario, but 7-8 to get to "The Pond". (depending on how many stops in between). Yes, that's why I changed my avatar. We are celebrating and after the end of May, no more tomatoes and cucumbers, except in my garden at The Pond.  Smiley

The first week of training the new owner has passed and it went very well.
It feels a little weird having a stranger living with us but he is very likeable
and loves my cooking. Haha. (bonus)
He will be with us Monday till friday every week until May 31st., the closing date.
At which time he will be moving his things in one door as we go out the other.  Smiley

We will have the use of a friends' cottage here, as we tie up loose ends. I will have
to close off the books for the Companys' year end as of May 31/10 etc. etc.

Time is going by so very quickly. Hope I can have everything packed up to go, on time

The basement for the house "should" be started in the next few weeks.

Most of what is left here to be packed, is kitchen stuff, (food, dishes etc.) and clothing.
Probably a few boxes of odds and ends.
My son Ron came on the weekend with a tractor trailer flatbed and took the Backhoe
and the heavy sheet metal equipment to the pond.
After Marvin has made the duct work for the house, we will sell all the sheet metal equipment.

The house is sounding very hollow in places, as a great deal of the small furniture
and all the wall hangings etc. have gone over to the pond already. lol
Marvin takes a load every weekend in my van (and in the trailer if it is not raining).

Scroll back up to the picture of "the pond" and imagine that you are all there sitting around the campfire
with us, sharing food and drink and laughter......... I shall be thinking of you all very often and missing you
a lot until we get connected to the internet again. I am thinking we will hook up the computer in a corner
of the garage while we are awating the house to be finished. Really do not think I could go all summer
without my daily visits to the Forum.  Smiley

We will be disconnected here on May 28th.

One week left Clifton. How is it going? Smiley
It is going fine, but extremely busy.
Had a few "Murphy's Law" days ( if it can go wrong, it will)
Our delivery van needed to go in the garage for repairs leaving my van for
the buyer to deliver the tomatoes and cukes with. He had a flat tire and I
guess drove it too far and totally wrecked the tire.  Roll Eyes.... I was cutting grass
with the push mower yesterday and the  censored handle broke off.
and on and on it goes. However we can still smile and hopefully we will get
through this and still have our sanity. Smiley
Our accountant told us yesterday that it will take her three weeks to get
everything closed off and the books finished after the 31st. so we will be
between here (at a cottage ) and at the pond for awhile. Our phone will be
hooked up in the garage at the pond on June 9th. the internet will certainly
be connected very soon thereafter. yes clap

Back to packing tomorrow. I am nearly done. Thank goodness  clap
