This will be the start of a photo journey through our new house construction.
This photo was taken facing the house from across the pond. The car port,
which has been turned into a garage, is on the left end of the house.

The framers have started, this is the front of the ( walkout) basement.
I am happy about the double glass doors and the large windows....lots of light.

Here they are putting on the floor, it has been completed now. It is finally looking like a house

The house is 44x30 and the garage is 30x24

One floor plus the walk-out basement. nearly all of the basement is living space

so will actually be like a two storey house and I think will look like same, from the front.

The basement and garage will have stone on the outside (shades of grey), the main floor outside

will have lighter grey vertical siding. There will be 4 windows top and same for the basement.(front side)

there will be double doors top and bottom, which will have 2/3 fancy glass. Doors will be

in cranberry color. The roof shingles will be dark grey. there will also be 2 windows in the garage

(smaller than house windows) and a walk-in single door. Also in cranberry.

I think this house is going to "look" like a Honkin' big house as the garage will look like part of

    the living space.  Grin

Most of the roof trusses went on today. the Bathtub is one piece (tub/sides/ceiling) and
had to be lifted up and in over the sides by the crane. Unfortunately, I was inside downloading
pictures and missed that shot.  Sad
the framers are running a bit behind and may or may not finish this week.

As you can see, we have a lot of landscaping to do after the house is finished.
The banks will not be nearly as steep and there will be terraces with trees shrubs and flowers.
The driveway up to the house will not be in the same place as is shown when we are finished.
This one was made for heavy trucks/deliveries.

This was taken yesterday. The framers forgot to cut out for the window in the dormer.
That will be done today or tomorrow. Hopefully they will be all finished on Monday or Tuesday.
It's going to rain all day today,so a little more delay.

The largest room on the main floor is the kitchen/dining area. it is around 400 sq. ft.
I have always wanted a "big ol' farm type kitchen".
maybe I can get a drawing of the floor plan on here. I shall work on that.
After the furniture is placed in all the rooms, I will post photos of each.

I packed away a lot of things and especially all my Christmas decorations, last fall
in case we sold last winter. a lot of my Christmas decorations I have not seen in two years.
It will seem like Christmas when I open the boxes in a couple months. Oh wait,...it Will be
Christmas   clap

The weather here is definately "fall like" but no frost yet. However, there has been frost in
Northern Ontario.

Looking fwd. to your photos H-Kon  yes

The doors and windows arrived today. Also, the shingles and the roofers arrived 5-6 days early

The roofing has been finished and the windows and doors installed.

A close up of the front doors.

1st question. Who mowes the lawn there?

And can he or she make it as soft and nice over here as it looks like it is over there?

That house looks like a dream house!

My husband cuts most of the grass at present. I will do more as we landscape around the house.
When we bought this property it was like a hay field. We just started to cut it with the lawn tractor
and at this point it is looking pretty nice I must say.

the house is "Our" dream house for sure.  Smiley

Can't wait to see pictures of how it all looks with the landscaping all done, and you guys moved in Smiley And that house, sitting on that property, is more then just "your" dreamhouse.. I think just about anyone would dream of calling that place their home! At least I know I do! Good luck with the rest of it  clap

Good to see you again mystic Smiley

I really wonder what kind of dough it would take to build something like that over here.

It will probably be very close to being finished for $125.000.00
keeping in mind, we are doing a lot of work ourselves.
This price does not include the cost of the land.
If we were in or near a city, I think this would be worth a million or plus when finished.
we were more than blessed to have found this little piece of Heaven.

Teal is also blown away by the view from the front doors/windows.  Grin

Did I mention, there are large Gold Fish in the pond? And there are lots of apple trees.  Bonus.

You got it. It is very peaceful. Here is a shot of part of the view from the front doors/windows.

The bricks are on, hopefully the siding will be on this week.

Actually the house has not changed much on the outside since last photo except for an amazing veranda all the way across the front, that Doc built. The soffits and eaves troughs will be on this fall but the siding will probably not be on until spring. we have been concentrating on the inside for the past while. we are getting the gyp-rock on the walls at present. we do not want to move into the main floor until it is completely finished. Baseboards etc all done so we will move over to the basement around the middle of Dec. and camp out there until the main floor is finished. I guess I need to look at that move as a "step closer" to everything being finished, but I must say, I have really had my fill of camping.........    I think I will have one of those hot toddies for myself. hehehe.

Here are a couple more photos. The first two are of the textured ceilings on the main floor (except kitchen and bath)
the other one is to give you an idea of what the siding looks like. by spring I should be able to post a lot of photos of the "finished" product.  clap
