Lots of things happening these days. My last day is on Saturday and with bank meetings, other job offers etc there is a whole lot on my plate.
A good thing is that i am taking the next week off. We're taking a little trip to Sweden again and will be back on Tuesday.
I am postponing the competition to mid next week as i am flying between things here.
As for work, i got 4 options:
1 - Start my own business from scratch - Not a painless operation, but the local bank is positive about it. Expenses pr month looks to be about 9K CAD/AUD a month including my own salary, while expected business is about 600K CAD/AUD a year. The rent is extremely cheap, only 700 CAD a month including heat for just short of 100 square meters "downtown" (if you blink while driving, you'¨ll miss downtown)
Negative: I need to finance the starting costs. I need to sell one car asap and use the money to start the business. I wont have any income until money starts to roll in, and since Jette is on an unpaid leave until December, we won't have much of a buffer. Could be a bit risky, but i will only cut my finger, not chop my head off if everything goes bad.
2 - Offer from a local company to expand their business into what i am doing. I run the shop alone, they pay all expenses and make me an employee. Details aren't there yet since i just got a word of mouth offer a few hours ago.
Negative: I won't take much part in the profit if the shop goes well, but i'll get a good paycheck starting nov 1st. I won't though pay a dime if the shop doesn't work. A minimum is that the shop has to balance for the doors to stay open. The safe option.
3 - I got an offer to buy a different shop 10km from where i live. The potential is about the same, a bit larger town and financing is already approved from the bank the business use. All i got to do is to say yes.
Negative: Triple the expense on the premises, but lots of regular customers. Expected income about the same - Premises located in a more populated area, but not exactly where one would prefer to go to to buy stuff.
4 - Apply for unenployment which gets me 66% of my current paycheck, start a service company from home on the side and drive around and fix other peoples computers when i feel like it.
Hmm. What to do?
