Improved the image verification on the registration page to cut down on the spamming. Member accounts now needs approval from myself before they can register. Going to install a pretty advanced anti-bot check and prune the forums this weekend. I think there are about 100 spammers registered here that i need to remove. Our ban list is starting to get huge. A big thanks to Clifton for taking care of the spammers so fast here! |

Yes that a great idea. We have been getting a number of spammers of late. thanks to Clifton for taking care of the spammers so fast here! Yes Clifton is quick on the delete button. Only once did I see a spammers post. Then Clifton took care of it a short time later. |

It's a plague that runs through most other forums too and comment sections at other websites. Simplemachines Forum (this forum) version 2.0 is still in beta so i won't take the plunge just yet. I got it running at a different forum with much less traffic ( www.fuglabar.com) and there are things that aren't working correctly yet. Hopefully, there will be much better spam control in that version when it comes out of beta. Aw crap. Forgot to have my annual April fools joke this year. aww. i am slipping  |

hehe. i remember that I think many fell for the joke that i was going to sell the site also Too bad most of the members from that time is gone. Many is registered though but haven't posted in years. About that. I just removed 260 member accounts, spammers all of them i believe. If i did remove your account by mistake, you'll need to re-register. All members with 0 post count have been removed, except for those known by myself. Drew has 2 registered accounts here, so i am not sure which of them he wants to keep |

Just deleted the rest of the 0 post members, installed the latest update and optimized the forum a bit. Removed the Norwegian forum due to inactivity, created an archive instead and moved every topic before Jan 1st to this forum and locked them.

Registration has been disabled for the time being. There are about 40 spam bots trying to register every day. I will enable it again when the forum upgrade is finished.
