One Q9550 will be picked up on Saturday. I am going to wait another month or so to see what happens with pricing on the other parts that i am looking at.

No Q9550, but Two Q9400 instead.

None of them seem to be great overclockers, so there will be some downtime to adjust them for maximum performance.

Both are currently running 3200Mhz, from their 2667Mhz stock speed.

One E5200 is now running in Jette's rig, while the other one doesn't have a motherboard yet together with her old E6400.

Next on the list: two el cheapo Core2 Duo capable motherboards, 2x 1gb stick of DDR-II and two el cheapo power supplies.

Then i'll get to work on a monster case to house all my computers, provided by IKEA Grin

My new quads are helping, but not as much as i'd like. Both are returning 4 wu's every hour and 5 minutes which is 20 minutes slower than my E8400 pr WU.

What does your 8800GT return Mystic?

I Might have to look into springing for a couple of graphics cards later this year.

I just learned that there are quite a lot of different sizes on the WU's, so my quads are being sent the longer ones it seems.
Hmm. It might not be too shabby afterall.
We'll see.

Doing a test on one quad.

Astropulse units all the way.

One quad at stock speeds finish an Astropulse unit in about 20 hours, pr core giving me about 1300 credit for each.

Meaning 4800 credits a day +

Going to see how it performs during the week, and if it pans out, this might give us an additional boost Smiley

Havn't really checked any. as CPU is running as well as the GPU, it's kind of hard to know. Also, I often turn it off as it totally screws up watching high quality video Sad

Got hold of any mobos yet, or do you still have a spare c2d? (Just got my paycheck, itching to buy something).

Got a spare E6400 (2,13Ghz) still. Not sure what i am going to do with it yet Grin
Did get a mobo. Asus P5QL (P43) that houses one of my quads.

2,7 million points and climbing. In just a day or so, we're a top 1000 team of about 80 thousand teams total.

Thats worth celebrating me thinks!

At this rate, we're 4th by the end of the year Grin

Turned up the quad running on my account by 20% today. should give about 2-300 more creds a day (it's not turned on 24/7). Not much, but every bit helps Smiley

As I've said in another thread here, I've decided to "invest" in a quad. The Q9550 to be precise Smiley Can't wait to see what it can do Grin

Doing Astropulse units only, with the optimized astropulse client, it should do a full one in 16 hours.  The regular wu's, in about 38 minutes.

You get 1300 points per unit pr core on Astropulse.....

My next investments are going to be graphic cards during summer i think Smiley We're clobbering just about anything out there these days, except for Team Norway Grin

Got 25K pending too! Grin

Hmm.. So you're saying I should go for AP wu's only? Smiley

Also, can the GPU handle AP?

The gpu can more than handle Astropulse units Smiley

My Q9400Q at stock speed does one in 20 hours, and the last few days have been exceptional statwise Smiley

Going to test it a bit more before i am switching everything to Astropulse Smiley

I'll stick to the normal wu's till I get the quad up and running Smiley

EDIT: I will continue to use my current C2D for seti as well. I'll use my old motherboard even though it's not really stable with overclock. Should be able to give me some good stats on stock clock Smiley

Benchmarks:

3592 floating point MIPS (Whetstone) per CPU
10407 Integer MIPS (Dhrystone) per CPU

Overclocked to 3.4GHz

EDIT: And for the first time in the history of my computer. I got 5.9 in Windows User Experience Smiley

H-kon: After I installed the packege you gave me, the computer no longer runs CUDA apps. Not 1, and it doesn't receive any cuda work units either Sad Any ideas?

Hmm. what times do you see?

Jette's PC doesn't receive any CUDA units either, but it speeds up the time it takes to finish a wu.

There aren't many WU's out there either. I barely have any on mine after the timeout they had.

The last 4-5 days my score has plumited.. From boinc logs I've calculated that I'm missing about 70K in credit.. My pending credit queue is decreasing for every day that passes, and about 70% of the work units I generate never make it to the pending credit list Sad I have no idea what's wrong... And this is happening with all computers, not just one :S
I'm just about giving up on SETI if this continues.. Climateprediction seems interresting though Smiley

Weird. I got 55K pending and it's rising. My RAC is also moving upwards.

Hmm. Climate prediction has some weird WU's according to Ars, but after i am done sanding down my stairs i'll take a look at the most beneficial projects out there.

I just had a little eye opener.  eek

I just looked at our stats for this little team that we are, but in truth we're really kicking massive butt these days which is illustrated by the following.

We're currently the 186th best team in the world in the daily stats.  We're currently the 888th best team in the world in total production. We're passing about 6-10 teams every single day.  We're producing more than Mexico,. University of Florida, Australia, Argentina, Venezuela, Brazil, Team Slashdot (!) and lots and lots of Universities.

In the total scene, we just passed CERN Labratories, University of Iowa, and we're about to pass Microsoft in Poland, Uni of Colorado,  The Norwegian Astronomy Company, Northern Ireland (team).

If we were a country, we'd be number 100 of all countries for total returns (ie, it identifies users from all the countries and puts them in a country team no matter what team you're in).

In the daily stats, we'd be 61st, just ahead of Bosnia & Herzegovina, but just a tad short of what Colombia returns (meaning, what all users in Bosnia and Colombia returns, no matter what team they're in).

We are getting closer to the point where we won't make much headroom, but take thee following comparison to heart:

SETI.USA is by far the largest team in the world. 5 guys from Team H-kon.net produce about 20K a day. SETI.USA has 1886 active members that produce 1.006.000 points a day.  Thats not too shabby for a couple of hardware addicts Smiley

I hope you stay on for a little while longer so that we can beat Hardware.no which was our primary silly goal to begin with, but which we are now just a couple of hundred days of actually accomplishing. After completing that task, and when we really cant move much upwards, i am very much interested in finding a different but much smaller project that we can compete in, and by the time we have accomplished or failed our goal, i am sure there will be several new projects that we can kick some butt in.  We have done this in little over a year, and even though you and I mystic are probably stretched out max, think about what we can do with some new recruits in any other projects Smiley

I'll keep going, but if SETI keeps "ignoring" my results so to speak, I will try to find some other project which better uses the resources Smiley

So we're finally 7th, and will be 6th in just a few weeks. We're producing on average about 24K a day now which is just mindblowing. I am trying to convert to Astropulse but no machines except for one has accepted it (config file error).

We're closing in on 3.5 million poins now, fast, very fast. I cannot express enough gratitude for the effort you all are putting in. A big heartwarming thanks from me to you for helping out.

We're in 836th overall, and if our growth keeps up with another few K's on average, no team will pass us for the foreseeable future, but we will pass another 50 teams in just 11 days.  We're currently 126th best team with our recent 30K daily streak, down from a our best ever 95th for a daily result.

  rockon

Loooks like you will have to send me your config file mystic so that we can get a 40K average Grin

  Kicking ass and taking names!

When the prices go down, I'll probably add another quad to the mix Smiley Whether or not I'll keep the dual core on seti is yet to be decided, but that should increase my contribution with about 25-35% Smiley

H-kon: if you'd I can put the config files in your "UserUpload" folder on the FTP server?
