Good call. RAM prices are skyrocketing at the moment. DDR-II memory has gone through the roof lately.

Not really a buy, but I still think it's worth mentioning At work they are decommissioning servers these days. No servers are supposed to be older then four years. So, as a part of that they are throwing away the rubbish, and giving it away to employees/reusing the best gear for testing. And so I got my hands on four IBM System X 335 servers (1U). They're not the most powerful of servers, but they certainly will be good enough for my test environment.

Some specs:
Intel Xeon 2.80GHz (dual core), 4096MB memory, 2x 36,4GB disks in RAID 1

Are these Core 2 Duo Xeons? How much cache?

Don't think these are much worth with BOINC'ing.. But for other operations, I think they do OK.
