Well, as some know. That other job only lasted for 4 days before all hell broke loose.

But in 40 minutes, i'm getting back in the ring again for 50% of standard working hours. Wish me luck

It's about 700 meters from where live so i cannot complain about the commute

I didn't know about the other job lasting 4 days. Is that the servicetechnician one back in October/Novemver?

Thanks Been an interesting first day and quite a lot to do.  I have gotten a carte blanche already so i am free to do as i please.

The service technician job fell apart on day 2 when they lost their biggest client, after that i spent my time searching again.

This job pays better and it's just a few minutes walking distance from home. Hope i am luckier this time around

So after day to, 30 minutes before i start on day 3 it looks like i might have hit the jackpot.  The store opened in 1983 and has survived 3 recessions. The owner has been there since day one and will be turning 63 years old this Saturday. I will officially start either on Friday or on Monday, depending on when the paperwork is finished and it's not decided yet if i will be working 100% (not intended) or 50%. It looks like it will be 100%, but we're waiting on the paperwork.

The money is very good, $10CAD/13AUD more an hour than any other store job and about $5,- more an hour than my last job and i get to do just about anything.

Down the line a few years from now, he'll start selling down the excess stock and inventory and it will turn to "H-kon's PC repair and Electronics store" meaning that he will sell the store to me (name of the store not included).

So i am soon going to think about a good store name and hopefully save up enough so that i don't have to turn to a bank to take over.

Time to hit the shower and open the store in 30 minutes. Mm. Snow and -5C degrees.

hehe. thanks everyone   This is just getting better and better hehe.

On day 3, i got to help a disabled guy out in his home that has tried everyone near and far to help him out for months with his "fancy Vista"  I fixed it in less than an hour so there is a bottle of wine and a CD on my desk now in addition to the bill i served. 

My boss is very happy and was told of me providing "outstanding service" and the word is starting to spread in this little small 5K population town meaning that i already have two more service jobs tomorrow

Hope to run my own little store in this small town eventually as it has always been a little dream to be my own boss

Had a blast today as well. Funny how much fun freedom during work is.

It's close to the release of our forum version 2.0 as well. I am going to start the process of migration and do some testing before launch next weekend and get some action going on here

More time has passed, so i thought a follow up was in order.

I think it's safe to say that this looks to be the best job i've ever had. I am becoming THE computer man to talk to in this small town, and i am getting 3rd hand feedback that praises me from a lot of our regular customers.

It's a 100% position now too officially, so i am now officially fully employed again.

Today and tomorrow, we're having a crazy sale on just about everything so i had an 11 hour stint yesterday getting things in order before i open in 45 minutes. Going to be interesting to see how that pans out.

Time to let this thread sink into the deep murky archives
