My fileserver has a software raid 1 installation on Windows Server 2003 R2 on sata that contains all the important files from the past 5 years

Can i just move this to a new machine, or will the new controller on a new motherboard cause me problems?

How about if i nuke Win2K3 and install XP or Server 2K8 - Will the new OS see this raid, or do i have to make a new one?
