Hello everyone,

I have been quite frustrated for the last few years that I can't run an array of games on my computer. I am well aware my computer may not be top of the line or alienware, but this is ridiculous. I am more tech savvy but I still need more understanding on what I need to do to turn my computer into somewhat of a gaming machine. Is a good graphics card all that I need? I am not really willing trying to spend money to buy a new processor or anything like that so please help me out. I like to play whatever I can thats decent on my computer since I no longer have bought a game system in years. I NEED to be able to play Madden type of games lol At least!!! Please help. I'm sure I will be able to run more emulators smoothly. At most, I can run a GBA, but that doesnt say much. And I can run playstation but I want something a little more, excuse me!

This is my system...

Video Card : Intel(R) 82865G Graphics Controller
Monitor Type : Dell Computer DELL E176FP
Processor : Intel Celeron D 325 @ 2533 MHz
Physical Memory : 256 MB (1 x 256 DDR-SDRAM )

Hi lyriks i got. Welcome to H-kon.net

Just a quick post before i head out the door.

I would open your system up first to see if you have an AGP or PCI-E port available. You need a separate graphics card in there. Then, i would at least upgrade to 1GB memory total, perhaps 2GB if your motherboard supports it.

I can take a look at it tomorrow around the same time as this post as i am going on a little christmas binge Smiley Hardware recommendations on the cheap will also be posted.

Your system would benefit from more memory which i would buy first. 256MB just isn't enough these days. Your processor is just waiting more than it it is working with the memory amount in your computer. You should at least see a 40% increase in system performance in general with more memory.

Do you have a brand computer? If so, any model numbers on it? Smiley Would be nice to see what it supports.

If not, any idea what kind of motherboard you have?

How much could you spend on upgrading a bit?

I found some memory for you here:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231039

If you have an AGP or an PCI-E graphics port, i could find a good graphics card for you as well for cheap.

Honestly, do not waste your time on this shitty system. I need some reference for the laptop. I probably wont be able to pick out a top-of-the-line gaming computer but I think I can get a decent one that will be able to play Madden, hopefully.

I'm not willing to invest any upgrades on this piece of shit lol Now the laptop is different. MINE MINE MINE!!! lol
